Written Answers. - Disabled Persons Grants Scheme.

39 Mr. Crawford asked the Minister for the Environment if he intends to increase the level of recoupment to local authorities in respect of applications for disabled persons grants in view of the fact that any expenditure over and above the amount now recoupable from his Department has to be met by local authorities who do not have the resources for this shortfall.

The maximum amount recoupable to local authorities from my Department under the disabled persons grant scheme has recently been increased from £2,500 to £4,000 in respect of schemes of work commenced on or after 1 March 1993.
