Adjournment Debate Matters.

The Ceann Comhairle wishes to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 20 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Seymour Crawford—the action the Minister for Health intends to take in relation to the waiting lists for orthodontic treatment in view of the case of a person (details supplied) in County Monaghan; (2) An Teachta Éamon Ó Cuív — Cathain a cheadófar an deontas don obair fheabhsúcháin agus leathnúcháin ar scoil Shailearna, Contae na Gaillimhe; (3) Deputy Trevor Sargent — The resources available to the Wildlife Service and whether the Minister for Finance has any plans to upgrade the service in the Dublin area which at present is covered by one officer who is often called to surrounding counties as well; (4) Deputy Jimmy Deenihan — The threatened closure by Kerry County Council of Ballinagher Bridge, County Kerry, resulting in major inconvenience to 30 families in the Lixnaw/Ballyduff areas and to tourists who use this route during the summer; (5) Deputy Avril Doyle — The urgent need for beach nourishment at Rosslare Strand as part of the coastal protection and maintenance works for 1993; (6) Deputy Hugh Byrne — the operation of the Office of Public Works canal at Kilmore Quay, County Wexford, and the potential liability of the State arising from claims of negligence; (7) Deputy Paul Connaughton — The sale by Teagasc of some of its research properties around the country and, in particular, the Sheep Research Institute at Blindwell, Kilconly, Tuam, County Galway, and the need to withdraw the notice of public sale on this property; (8) Deputy John Connor — The proposed closure of the coal-burning power station at Arigna, County Roscommon; and (9) Deputy Proinsias De Rossa — The reports that Ireland is now likely to receive well below the promised £8.8 billion in EC Structural Funds and the need for urgent action to ensure that Ireland's share is not reduced.

The Ceann Comhairle has selected for discussion the matters raised by Deputies Sargent, Doyle, Crawford and Ó Cuív.
