28 Ms McManus asked the Minister for Tourism and Trade the bodies or agencies which have been consulted so far in regard to the examination of the proposals of the Tourism and Task Force; if any deadline has been set for the completion of this process; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
I informed the House on 2 March, 1993 that the report of the Tourism Task Force is currently under examination in my Department having regard to the Tourism Section in the Programme for a Partnership Government 1993-97. So far all the relevant Government Departments have been consulted and there is an ongoing process of consultation with Bord Fáilte and the regional tourism organisations. I have also discussed specific recommendations with the Irish Tourist Industry Confederation, the umbrella organisation for the tourist industry, and with relevant constituent representative groups within the confederation.
