Ceist:129 Mr. Deenihan asked the Minister for Equality and Law Reform when he intends to introduce legislation to provide for adoptive leave; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The Programme for a Partnership Government contains a commitment to enact legislation for adoptive maternity leave. Work on the preparation of a Bill that will give effect to the commitment is well advanced and I expect that it will be ready for introduction during the next Dáil session.
