101 Mr. Finucane asked the Minister for Education when grant sanction will be given for the provision of a new community college of 14 new classrooms, Library, P.E. hall, staff facilities, toilets, car-parking, bus lay-by and playing pitches at Rathkeale, County Limerick, as the present delay is causing concern; and if she will make a statement on the matter.
The combined Detail Design/ Contract Documents for the project have been received from the County Limerick vocational education committee and are currently under examination in my Department. If these are satisfactory, the next stage will be the invitation of tenders.
It has not been possible to include this project in the 1993 capital programme because of other projects deemed to be of a higher priority which had to take precedence. The project will be considered in due course for inclusion in the 1994 capital programme in the light of objective criteria related to relevant educational, building and financial factors.
