Vol. 435 No. 2

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Jimmy Deenihan

Ceist:

71 Mr. Deenihan asked the Minister for the Environment if he will provide a special grant to enable Kerry County Council to widen and make safe the entrance to St. John's Park in 1993; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

A request from Kerry County Council for funding to improve the access road to this local authority housing scheme is under consideration in my Department. The council will be advised of the outcome as soon as possible.

Jim Higgins

Ceist:

72 Mr. J. Higgins asked the Minister for the Environment if he will approve the application for the necessary sanction and grant-aid from the Kilmurray area, Crossmolina, County Mayo for a water supply connection to the Ballina regional scheme.

Revised contract documents are under consideration in my Department in respect of the Ballina regional water supply scheme. Stage 4A (Extension to Crossmolina). This stage of the scheme is to facilitate extension of the public water supply to existing and planned group water schemes in the Kilmurray area.

The question of funding for this scheme is being examined at present in the context of the post-1993 operational programme for environmental services.
