Vol. 435 No. 3

Order of Business.

It is proposed to take Nos. 1, 2 and 4. Private Members' Business shall be No. 18.

I am sure the Taoiseach will agree that the debate held in the House last week on Northern Ireland was very useful. Will he give an assurance that, in order to keep the impetus for peace going, he will keep under review the need for further debate in this House? I am sure he will receive co-operation from this side if that is required.

That is hardly a matter for the Order of Business.

It relates to the ordering of business. Perhaps the Taoiseach will give an assurance that another debate will be held as soon as is necessary in order to keep the impetus going.

It is proposed to have statements on Thursday morning on my meeting with the British Prime Minister and on the summit and that will give the House a further opportunity to debate the matter.

Will the Taoiseach say whether the changes in the extradition laws which have been promised by the Government will be published before Christmas?

Will the Taoiseach tell the House which Minister will issue the new bilateral agreement with the US Aviation Authority? Will it be the Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs or the Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications? I understand that, heretofore, this was done by the Minister with responsibility for Foreign Affairs. Will the Taoiseach clarify that point?

Does this relate to promised legislation?

It is an agreement.

There has to be agreement.

It has to be brought before the House and laid in the Dáil Library.

I seek your help, a Leas-Cheann Comhairle, on a certain matter.

The Taoiseach and the Tánaiste and the Minister for Foreign Affairs are recently on record as saying that the "dirty dozen" social welfare cuts were all gone as a result of the agreement between ICTU and the Government.

This does not arise now, Deputy.

The "nasty nine" cuts are still in place. When will the House be informed about the outcome of the discussions?

The Deputy will have to find another way of raising that matter.

It is promised legislation.

Is the Dáil not relevant any more?

Please desist, Deputy Allen. I am moving on to the Order of Business proper.
