Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Donal Carey

Ceist:

143 Mr. Carey asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when a 1993 beef premium will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Clare; and when the file was passed from the Ennis office of his Department.

Donal Carey

Ceist:

157 Mr. Carey asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when a person (details supplied) in County Clare will be paid his slaughter grant; and when the file was passed from the Ennis Office of his Department.

I propose taking Questions Nos. 143 and 157 together.

The application of the person named for grants under the January-February 1993 special beef premium scheme is being processed at present and if found in order a 60 per cent advance will be paid shortly. He did not apply for grants under the special beef premium scheme in the June 1993 application period. In accordance with EC rules, payments under the special beef premium scheme cannot be made before 1 November and even then are limited to a 60 pe cent advance.

His application for grants under the 1993 deseasonalisation slaughter premium scheme is being processed at present and if found in order following a computer validation check payment will issue shortly. The file in this case was passed from the Ennis office of my Department on 22 November 1993. The delay arose because the person named submitted an incomplete certified sales docket.

Michael J. Noonan

Ceist:

144 Mr. Noonan (Limerick West) asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when payment of a 1993 ewe subsidy will be made to a person (details supplied) in County Limerick.

The person named applied for premium on 100 sheep under the 1993 ewe premium scheme but presented only 88 for inspection. As he could not account for the 12 sheep that were absent and as this number exceeded 10 per cent of the total herd applied on he is not entitled to any premium under the terms and conditions of the scheme as laid down by the EC.

Ceist:

145 Mr. Byrne asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the date of application for area aid from a person (details supplied) in County Wexford; the progress, if any, to date; the likely outcome of the application; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

This application was received on 14 May 1993 and payment was made on 20 November 1993.

Ceist:

146 Mr. Byrne asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the date of application for a sheep quota from a person (details supplied) in County Wexford; the progress, if any, to date; the likely outcome of the application; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

An application for ewe premiumn reserve quota was received from the person named prior to 17 September 1993 which was the closing date for applications.

A decision on whether or not he is eligible for an allocation of quota from the reserve will be made as soon as all applications received for reserve quota have been processed by my Department. This is expected to take a further 3 to 4 weeks.
