Ceist:36 Mr. Browne (Carlow-Kilkenny) asked the Minister for Justice her views on whether there is any need to appoint an extra Circuit Court Judge.

The Courts Act, 1991 increased the civil jurisdiction of the Circuit and District Courts. A review to assess the impact on the courts of this altered jurisdiction has been completed by my Department and the results are under examination at present. I hope to be in a position to make recommendations to the Government on the allocation of resources, including Judicial resources; in the courts shortly.
