85 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Justice if, arising from her reply to Parliamentary Question No. 61 of 4 November 1993, she will give the number of breaches of the speed limit that have been detected on Ratoath Road, Dublin 7; and the number of prosecutions taken in the past two years.
As previously explained to the Deputy on 4 November last, prosecutions are taken by the Garda where breaches of the speed-limit are detected. As regards the location in question, I am informed by the Garda authorities that the information requested is not yet to hand. I will communicate with the Deputy as soon as the information is made available to me.
It may be of interest to the Deputy to know that there have been 12 detections of drunken driving at the location during this period and that prosecutions were taken in all of these cases.
