Vol. 436 No. 6

Written Answers. - Malahide (Dublin) Marina.

Eamon Gilmore

Ceist:

114 Mr. Gilmore asked the Minister for the Marine the number of swing moorings to be displaced by the development of a marina at Malahide, County Dublin; and the alternative arrangements, if any, that are being made for the holders of these moorings.

I understand that there are a small number of swing moorings only remaining that need to be relocated by the development of the marina.

To allow for phase I of the marina development some ten to 12 moorings were to be relocated by agreement between the boatmen and the developer, and subject to the approval of the Minister for the Marine, which approval was given. The relocation costs were to be borne by the developers.

Both the developer and the boatowners' association are keeping the Department fully informed of their negotiations to achieve a further agreement to cover the remaining affected moorings. This agreement will also be subject to the approval of the Minister for the Marine.
