Vol. 436 No. 6

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Frank Crowley

Ceist:

116 Mr. Crowley asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when a person (details supplied) in County Cork will be paid a 1992 beef premium grant.

Some elements of the application of the person named for grants under the December 1992 special beef premium require further examination. These are being pursued urgently. If the application is found to be in order payment will be made shortly.

Frank Crowley

Ceist:

117 Mr. Crowley asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry if an application for a milk quota by a person (details supplied) in County Cork will be accepted by his Department.

An application for a SLOM III milk quota had, under the terms of Council Regulation — EEC —No. 2055/93, to be received in the Department by 1 November, 1993. The application from the person in question was received in the Department on 8 November, 1993. In any event, as the applicant has indicated that he acquired the lands in 1987, some two years after the close of the period in which they were comprised in a non-marketing of milk scheme, and as, consequently, an undertaking not to market milk was never given by him, his application, even if it had been received in time, would not have been successful.

Seymour Crawford

Ceist:

118 Mr. Crawford asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when a person (details supplied) in County Monaghan will be paid the 22 month beef premium he applied for in January 1993 for 90 bullocks and the slaughter premium he applied for in relation to 93 bullocks.

The application of the person named for grants under the January/February 1993 special beef premium scheme is being processed at present and, if found in order, a 60 per cent advance will be paid shortly.

His application for grants under the 1993 deseasonalisation slaughter premium was rejected at a computer validation check because of invalid tag numbers. The problem with the application has now been resolved and payment will be made shortly.

The person named has already been paid his grants under the December 1992 special beef premium scheme. His application for grants under the January/February 1993 special beef premium scheme is being processed at present and, if found in order, a 60 per cent advance will be paid shortly.

The person named was paid deseasonalisation slaughter premium on 38 animals on 1 December 1993. The other two animals were rejected because our records do not show that these animals had already been in receipt of special beef premium grants as is required under the terms and conditions of the slaughter premium scheme. If on further investigation, it is found that special beef premium has been paid, arrangements will be made to pay slaughter premium on these animals as soon as possible.
