Ceist:84 Mr. Deenihan asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when he intends to introduce new regulations regarding the separation of milk quota from land.

Under EU law, quotas are attached to land and are automatically transferred when land to which quota is attached is transferred. There is however provision in EU law for some flexibility in this area in certain prescribed circumstances. National implementing legislation to give effect to this flexibility is presently at an advanced stage of preparation.
