Ceist:176 Mr. E. Kenny asked the Minister for Health if the transfer of a person (details supplied) in County Mayo was satisfactory from a health point of view.
Written Answers. - Transfer of Patient.
I have had inquiries made from the Western Health Board concerning this patient's case. The health board has indicated that during the period of this patient's admission, she was necessarily transferred to three different wards in order to facilitate the emergency admission of other patients. According to the health board, the medical treatment and nursing care provided to this patient was of a high standard, and her physical condition was not put at risk at any time. The health board has expressed its regret at the inconvenience caused to the patient by the transfers.
