Vol. 437 No. 4

Written Answers. - Dublin School Building.

Noel Ahern

Ceist:

190 Mr. N. Ahern asked the Minister for Education if, in view of the fact that the estimates for 1994 have been agreed, funding for the new school building at St. Aidan's CBS, Collins Avenue, Dublin 9 has been provided for; and if so, the amount provided.

The details of the 1994 capital programme have not yet been finalised. The question of the inclusion of St. Aidan's CBS, Whitehall in this programme will be considered in this context.

Noel Ahern

Ceist:

191 Mr. N. Ahern asked the Minister for Education the current position of a request from the Virgin Mary Schools, Shangan Road, Ballymun, Dublin 11, who have a commitment from her Department since December 1988, to replace the rotten window frames in the girls school extension; the estimated cost of the work; and if provision for this work has been made in the 1994 Estimates.

My Department is considering the provision of a grant in respect of the replacement of windows in the Virgin Mary girls national school, Ballymun, and a decision in the matter will be conveyed to the school authorities as soon as possible.

It is not the practice to disclose details of costs relating to grant applications from individual school authorities.
