Ceist:59 Mr. McCormack asked the Minister for Health if he has sanctioned the proposed institute for women's health to be situated in Dublin; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I presume the Deputy is referring to the proposal to establish a Women's Health Institute at the National Maternity Hospital, Holles Street.
I met with representatives of the hospital in June 1993 and expressed my full support in principle for the proposed institute. I was informed by the hospital representatives that the project would not have direct financial implications for my Department and therefore sanction for the project does not arise.
