Ceist:232 Mr. Cox asked the Minister for Social Welfare the gross and net cost to the Exchequer of each £1 extra paid in child benefit from 6 April 1994 to 31 December 1994, and in a full year.

It is estimated that each £1 extra paid in child benefit would cost the Exchequer approximately £9.75 million from 6 April to 31 December 1994 and £13 million in a full year.
