Vol. 437 No. 6

Written Answers. - Sheep Quota.

Jimmy Deenihan

Ceist:

433 Mr. Deenihan asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the reason a person (details supplied) in County Kerry was allocated a sheep quota for 64 sheep when she included 145 for inclusion; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The person named has a ewe premium quota entitlement for 64 premium rights based on the number of ewes on which she was paid the premium in 1991. She applied for reserve quota under Category 1 (a) of the terms and conditions for allocation of reserve quota. This category provides for reserve quota to be allocated to flockowners who were paid premium on a lower number of ewes than normal in 1991 due to exceptional circumstances. The person named was paid on a higher number of ewes in 1991 than previous years and therefore does not qualify for reserve quota.
