Irish Manuscripts Commission	Not covered by legislation. The Commission was set up by the Government under a Warrant of Appointment in 1928.

National Gallery of Ireland	National Gallery, Museum and Library Act, 1855.
National Heritage Council	Established on an ad hoc basis in 1988.
National Library of Ireland	Dublin Science and Art Museum Act, 1877.
National Museum of Ireland	Dublin Science and Art Museum Act, 1877.
The National Theatre Society Ltd.	Companies Acts, 1963 to 1990.
Radio Telefís Éireann	Broadcasting Authority Act, 1960.
The Arts Council	The Arts Acts, 1951 and 1973
The Chester Beatty Library	The Library and contents were left to the State under the terms of the will of the late Sir Alfred Chester Beatty. The Chester Beatty Library Act, 1968 deals with the appointment of Trustees by the President.
The National Concert Hall	Companies Acts, 1963 to 1990.
Údarás na Gaeltachta	An tAcht um Údarás na Gaeltachta, 1979.
National Archives	National Archives Act, 1986.

515 Ms O'Donnell asked the Minister for Arts, Culture and the Gaeltacht the boards, committees, companies or other bodies under the auspices of his Department; and, in each case, whether the Chairperson is male or female, the number of other members of the boards who are female and male and whether their Chief Executive or holder of an equivalent position is male or female.

Since the establishment of my Department in January 1993, I have appointed the following bodies in their entirety:
