Vol. 437 No. 6

Written Answers. - Ballinagh (Cavan) School.

Andrew Boylan

Ceist:

108 Mr. Boylan asked the Minister for Education the present position regarding the building of a new national school at Ballinagh, County Cavan; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

The need for a major upgrading of the accommodation at Ballinagh national school has been agreed in principle by my Department. A number of options for development are being considered and as soon as a decision is made on which option is to be selected, the architectural planning of the project will be commenced.

It was not possible to include this project in the National Schools' Capital Programme for 1994 due to other demands, deemed to be of higher priority, which had to take precedence. However, the chairman of the board of management has been informed that it will be considered for inclusion in the list of priority projects for 1995.
