Vol. 437 No. 7

Written Answers. - Tax Clearance Certificate.

Frank Crowley

Ceist:

66 Mr. Crowley asked the Minister for Finance the reason for the delay in issuing a tax clearance certificate to a person (details supplied) in County Cork.

I am informed by the Revenue Commissioners that the application for a tax clearance certificate from the person concerned was submitted to the inspector of taxes in Cork who forwarded it through the post to the Collector General's Office in Limerick. Unfortunately, it would appear to have been lost in transit as there is no record of its receipt in the Limerick office.

The person concerned has been advised to submit a fresh application directly to the Collector General's Office and on receipt of same, a tax clearance certificate will be issued without delay. The Commissioners regret any inconvenience caused to the taxpayer in question.
