There are in fact two main pension schemes operating within the Córas Iompair Éireann Group which cover salaried staff and regular wages grade staff in the three CIE subsidiaries.
The salaried staff scheme was approved in 1951 and the regular wages staff scheme was approved in 1945. Amendments to the schemes are proposed by CIE from time to time, and submitted to this Department for approval. A number of such amendments are under consideration at present and will be processed as expeditiously as possible.
