Ceist:50 Mr. Bradford asked the Minister for Justice the number of armed robberies in 1993; and if she will give a breakdown, by county and institution, that is, bank, post office or private dwelling.

I am informed by the Garda authorities that information in relation to the number of armed robberies and armed aggravated burglaries is contained in the Garda Commissioner's annual report on crime, copies of which are available in the Oireachtas Library. Crime statistics are compiled on a Garda divisional basis and not a county basis. Figures for 1993 are not yet available. However, I am informed by the Garda authorities that the indications are that there has been some increase in the number of armed robberies and armed aggravated burglaries during 1993.
