111 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Justice the reason for the release of a person (details supplied) in Dublin 1, who was sentenced in February 1993, to two years for supply of heroin, and who had two previous convictions for the same offence; and if she will make a statement on the matter.
112 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Justice the number of times persons (details supplied) in Dublin 1 were sentenced for supplying heroin; the length of the sentence in each case; and the length of time served in each case.
I propose to take Questions Nos. 111 and 112 together.
It is not normal practice to discuss the treatment of individual prisoners or to comment on their offences or sentences and I would not be justified in making an exception in these cases.
