93 Mr. Cox asked the Minister for the Environment when regulations will be made under section 78 of the Local Government (Planning and Development) Act, 1963, as amended by section 3 of the Local Government (Planning and Development) Act, 1993; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
105 Mr. Cox asked the Minister for the Environment when planning regulations governing new developments undertaken by local authorities will be in force; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
I propose to take Questions Nos. 93 and 105 together.
Section 78 of the Local Government (Planning and Development) Act, 1963, as amended by section 3 of the Local Government (Planning and Development) Act, 1993, provides for the establishment, by regulations, of a new procedure of public notice and consultation for such classes of local authority development as may be prescribed. I intend to make these regulations in the near future, with a view to bringing the new procedure into operation from mid-year.
