Ceist:108 Mr. E. Kenny asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when a person (details supplied) in County Galway will receive payment of beef premium and slaughter grants.

The person named has already been paid an advance of 60 per cent under the special beef premium scheme on 13 animals applied for in January-February 1993.
Payment of the balance due under the 1993 special beef premium scheme cannot be made until all applications received from him in the course of 1993 have been processed. This is necessary to ensure compliance with EU regulations covering in particular the ceiling on eligible animals and stocking density. There is no record in my Department of an application under the 1993 deseasonalisation slaughter premium scheme from this person.
