165 Ms McManus asked the Minister for Education in view of the need for a sports hall at Scoil Chonglais, Baltinglass, County Wicklow will she sanction the provision of this sports hall in view of the previous sanction which was given by one of her predecessors.
Due to demands on the capital resources available, priority has had to be given for some time to the provision of essential classroom accommodation. As a result, it has not been possible to make funding available for the provision of physical education facilities at Scoil Chonglais in Baltinglass.
The provision of indoor sports accommodation in existing schools, in the form of a general purpose area at primary level and a hall at second level will resume as soon as pressure on available resources for urgent classroom accommodation has eased.
