18 Mr. Sargent asked the Minister for Health the plans, if any, he has to shorten the waiting time of eleven weeks experienced by those seeking a consultation with one of the ten dermatologists practising in Ireland.
The Deputy will appreciate that patient appointments for consultations are matters for the hospitals concerned. Priority appointments are given in certain circumstances. Should a patient feel that their condition has deteriorated, they should contact their general practitioner who would be in the best position to take the matter up with the consultant directly.
