Frank Crowley

Ceist:

80 Mr. Crowley asked the Minister for Health the current status of the Tierney report on hospital manpower.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 40, 63, 78 and 80 together.

The report to which the Deputies refer is a discussion document prepared by a Collaborative Study Group representative of my Department, Comhairle na nOspidéal and the Postgraduate Medical and Dental Board. The main purpose of the report is to stimulate discussion and debate on the subject of medical manpower. The report was circulated to all agencies with an interest in the subject last June and their comments requested before 30 October, 1993.
I have now asked the Study Group to examine the large number of detailed responses received and to make further recommendations.
Any further action by me in respect of the report at this stage would be premature.
