107 Mr. Connaughton asked the Minister for Finance the reduction, if any, he proposes in the rate of stamp duty charged in the transfer of farms; when the new rates will become operational; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
In the Programme for Competitiveness and Work, the Government has given a commitment to reduce the stamp duty payable on farm transfers to young trained farmers. The detailed terms and conditions attaching to this proposed stamp duty relief are under consideration at present, and will be contained in the forthcoming Finance Bill.
