69 Mr. McGahon asked the Minister for Education if she has received an application for grant-aid from the national lottery in the last three years from Dundalk AFC; and if so, the reason they have been ignored while other League of Ireland clubs have been assisted notably Shelbourne FC who received £150,000.
My Department has no record of receiving an application from Dundalk AFC within the past three years. An earlier application fell to be considered under the amenity grants scheme and as such the question of providing a grant would have been one for the local authority.
In response to recent representations to the Minister of State at my Department an application form under the recently advertised recreational facilities scheme was sent to the club. The closing date for the receipt of completed applications is Friday, 4 March 1994 following which all applications will be considered.
