64 Ms F. Fitzgerald asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs if he has discussed with the Minister for Arts, Culture and the Gaeltacht the reappointment of the cultural relations committee; and in view of the reappointment of this committee whether there will be any role for that Department in relation to this committee.
The Minister for Arts, Culture and the Gaeltacht has been in touch with me about the composition of the Cultural Relations Committee, which is shortly to be appointed. I have taken his suggestions fully into account in my consideration of the matter, since it is clearly desirable that there should be close co-operation between the Department of Arts, Culture and the Gaeltacht and my own Department on the question of promoting Irish culture abroad.
