Ceist:19 Mr. Browne (Carlow/Kilkenny) asked the Minister for Finance if he will modernise the presentation of the budget for future years.

The Deputy can be assured that the preparation and presentation of the budget is reviewed on an ongoing basis.
The Deputy will be aware for example that, following consultation with the Committee of Procedures and Privileges, the 1994 Financial Statement was distributed to all Deputies for the first time at the commencement of my speech.
I will continue to monitor the situation with a view to implementing further improvements where necessary. In that context, I will be looking at the practice in other countries.
