Ceist:25 Mr. Hogan asked the Minister for Enterprise and Employment the reason Ireland failed to attract a Taiwanese textile company which subsequently decided to locate in Northern Ireland; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The matter raised by the Deputy relates to the day-to-day responsibilities of IDA Ireland and is not one in which I have a direct function. In any event, contacts between IDA Ireland and the promoters of potential projects are conducted on a confidential basis and, as such, it would be inappropriate for me to comment on the details of any such contact.
