Vol. 440 No. 3

Written Answers. - Property Valuation Appeal.

Bernard Allen

Ceist:

100 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Finance when an appeal for persons (details supplied) in County Cork against the valuation on a property will be heard.

The results of the request for the revision of the property referred to were issued in November 1993. The property had consisted of one lot which was subdivided on revision between five new occupiers and one of these has appealed the result of the revision.

The commissioner will appoint a valuer to investigate the grounds of the appeal and the appeal determination is expected to issue in September/October 1994.

Since the property is within a designated area the occupiers may be entitled to a remission of rates payable on any increase of the rateable valuation. The occupiers should make a request through Cork Corporation to the Commissioner of Valuation to have such an apportionment made.
