Ceist:262 Mr. Molloy asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the number and percentage of beef carcases that were classified into different Euro grid grades for conformation and fat classes for the years 1990 to 1993; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Ceist:263 Mr. Molloy asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the total number of beef carcases that were classified under the EC Euro grid scheme in beef export plants in the years 1992 and 1993; the number of carcases that were put forward for appeal in the years 1992 and 1993; the number of carcases that were upgraded following appeal for the years 1992 and 1993; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The operation of the beef carcase classification system is currently under review and, consequently, no decisions have yet been taken in this regard. The statistical information requested by the Deputy is set out in the following tables:
