Vol. 440 No. 5

Written Answers. - Celbridge (County Kildare) School.

Bernard J. Durkan

Ceist:

92 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Education the progress to date in relation to the replacement of facilities for St. Wolstan's Post Primary School, Dublin Road, Celbridge, County Kildare; if site or development plans have been agreed in this case; if a schedule in relation to the provision of facilities has been identified; if the necessary funding is likely to be available in the current year for the provision of the necessary facilities; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

A site for the proposed new second level school in Celbridge has been proposed and my Department has sought a valuation on the site.

A schedule of accommodation has been drawn up and it is hoped to initiate architectural planning in the near future.

However, as architectural planning will take some time to complete it is not envisaged that building will commence in 1994. The inclusion of the project in the building programme is being urgently considered in the context of all the relevant building educational and financial factors.
