205 Mrs. T. Ahearn asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when the balance of suckler cow grant and beef premium grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Tipperary; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
The person named was paid a 60 per cent advance of the 1993 suckler cow premium on 7 December 1993. She also applied for speical beef premium on 11 animals in July 1993. There is a query on one of the tag numbers listed on this application and when this problem is resolved the application will be processed for payment.
Payment of balances due under the 1993 suckler cow and beef premium schemes cannot be processed until all applications including the area aid application have been processed. This is necessary to ensure compliance with EU regulations covering in particular the ceiling on eligible animals and stocking density.
