Ceist:213 Mr. Yates asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when a suckler cow subsidy will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford; and if he will expedite this payment.

The application of the person named under the 1993 suckler cow premium scheme is being processed at present and it is expected that payment will be made in April.

Ceist:214 Mr. Yates asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when payments under the 1992 and 1993 suckler cow scheme and slaughter premium scheme will be made to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford; and if he will expedite these payments.
The person named was paid his 1993 deseasonalisation slaughter premium on 15 March 1994. He did not apply for the 1992 suckler cow premium. He did however apply for the 1993 suckler cow premium but he cannot be paid as he does not have a suckler cow quota at present. If he succeeds in obtaining a quota from the national reserve, his 1993 application will then be considered.

Ceist:215 Mr. Ellis asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the reason 1991, 1992 and 1993 sheep premia have not been paid to a person (details supplied) in County Sligo; and the reason this person has not received a quota.
Under the 1991 and 1992 ewe premium schemes the person named was not entitled to any payment as he did not present any sheep under the 1991 scheme and he failed to notify my Department of losses exceeding 10 per cent under the 1992 scheme. He was not an applicant under the 1993 scheme.
The relevant EU regulations provide for ewe premium quota to be based on the number of ewes on which a producer was paid the premium in 1991 provided that the producer also applied for the premium in 1992. The person named is not entitled to a quota as he was not paid premium under the 1991 ewe premium scheme.

Ceist:216 Mr. Ellis asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry if he will have arrangements made to pay 1992 and 1993 suckler cow premia and headage due to a person (details supplied) in County Leitrim; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
Payment of the 1992 suckler cow premium and cattle headage grants cannot be made to the person named because she failed to present cattle identity cards for the animals applied on when requested to do so. With regard to her 1993 suckler cow and cattle headage application, further inquiries are being made and I have arranged for my Department to write to the Deputy in the matter.
