Vol. 440 No. 7

Family Law (Property) Bill, 1994: Order for Second Stage.

Bill entitled an Act to make provision, in the interests of the common good, for the recognition of non-financial contribution by spouses in determining beneficial ownership of family homes and chattels and to provide for related matters.

I move: "That Second Stage be taken in Private Members' Time today."

That is not opposed, but I draw the attention of the House to the fact that this Bill was published only on Monday last while the Government is expected to publish legislation two weeks before it is taken in this House. Nevertheless, we will take the Bill today.

What about all the programme managers?

The Taoiseach is not too bad at publishing things himself.

The Deputy's leader is not bad either. He is even better than I.

He does not have a programme manager.

(Carlow-Kilkenny): He does not have as many helpers as the Taoiseach.

Question put and agreed to.
