130 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Justice if she will request the Gardaí to investigate allegations of cruelty (details supplied) whereby an injured greyhound was doped and forced to race and if she will make a statement on the matter.
I have been informed by the Garda authorities that no complaint was received by the Garda from any person pertaining to cruelty at the Irish Cup coursing meeting at Clounanna. However, the contents of the article referred to by the Deputy, are being examined by the Garda authorities and if any breach of the law is detected it will be investigated.
