Vol. 441 No. 7

Written Answers. - Grant Payment.

Jimmy Deenihan

Ceist:

80 Mr. Deenihan asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when a beef premium and suckler cow payment will be made to a person (details supplied) in County Kerry.

The person named was paid advances under the 1993 suckler cow premium scheme and June 1993 22 month special beef premium scheme on 29 November 1993 and 8 December 1993 respectively. These applications are now being processed further and any balance due will be paid shortly. He applied for a grant on one animal under the June 1993 ten month special beef premium scheme but that animal could not qualify for a grant under the scheme because it was found to be over 20 months of age at the date of application. He did not apply under the January-February 1993 special beef premium scheme or the November 1993 ten or 22 month special beef premium schemes.

Ned O'Keeffe

Ceist:

81 Mr. E. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the amount of headage payments due to a person (details supplied) in County Cork under both the beef premium scheme and suckler scheme; the number of animals applied for under both schemes; and if his attention has been drawn to the fact that a delay had occurred in having payment issued.

The person named was paid an advance of her 1993 suckler cow premium on 30 cows on 17 December 1993. The advance was paid on 30 cows instead of 39 due to a clerical error. Her application is being processed further and if found in order payment of the balance due on these 30 cows and the full premium on the other nine cows listed on her application will be paid as soon as possible.

Her application under the January-February 1993 special beef premium was disqualified as the animal on which the premium was claimed was sold at a mart without the identity card being punched before sale as required under the terms and conditions of the scheme. She was paid an advance of her June 1993 ten month special beef premium on 15 December 1993 but payment of the premium in respect of one animal for the June 1993 22 month special beef premium is under investigation and my Department is in correspondence with the herdowner in the matter. Her application under the December 1993 special beef premium is being processed and if found in order payment will issue as soon as possible.

Edward Nealon

Ceist:

82 Mr. Nealon asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the present position regarding the remainder of the 1993 beef premium due to a person (details supplied) in County Sligo; and when it will be paid.

The application of the person named for grants under the January-February 1993 special beef premium scheme is being processed further and any balance due will be paid shortly.

Edward Nealon

Ceist:

83 Mr. Nealon asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the present position regarding all the outstanding headage payments due to a person (details supplied) in County Sligo; and when these will be paid.

The person named has already been paid 60 per cent advances under the 1993 suckler cow and January-February 1993 special beef premium schemes. His applications are now being processed further and any balances due will be paid shortly.

His application for grants under the 1993 cattle and equines headage scheme was rejected due to inaccuracies in his area aid application. These have now been resolved and payment will be made shortly. He did not apply for grants under the special beef premium scheme in the June 1993 and November 1993 application periods.
