156 Mr. Lawlor asked the Minister for Education when the already sanctioned special class for pupils with learning difficulties will commence in Lucan, County Dublin; and the venue at which the class will be located; if she will expedite its establishment in order to allay local parents' concerns; and if she will make a statement on the matter.
My Department has not received an application for a special class for pupils with learning difficulties in the Lucan area. In order to assess the need for such a class, my Department would require details of the children involved, including psychological and other relevant assessments.
Once these details have been received, I will arrange for the matter to be fully investigated.
