Vol. 442 No. 3

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Frank Crowley

Ceist:

154 Mr. Crowley asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when an advance payment will issue to a person (details supplied) in County Cork who has applied for the 1992 suckler cow grant scheme.

The person named will be visited within the next few days so that a duplicate application form in respect of the June 1993 suckler cow scheme can be completed. It will be processed as a matter of urgency and, if in order, full payment will issue.

Frank Crowley

Ceist:

155 Mr. Crowley asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when a suckler cow grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Cork.

The person named applied for premium on 32 cows under the 1993 suckler cow scheme for small-scale milk producers on 15 June 1993. Since he was not an applicant in 1992 under the suckler cow premium scheme he did not have automatic right to quota. However, he has recently been allotted a quota of 31 premium rights from the special reserve. His application for grants under the 1993 scheme can now be processed and any payment due will issue shortly.

Paul Bradford

Ceist:

156 Mr. Bradford asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the reason a person (details supplied) in County Cork has not been paid his suckler cow premium; and if this decision will be reviewed.

The person applied for premium on 14 cows under the 1992 suckler cow premium scheme on 17 December 1992. The delay in payment is due to the fact that he did not have a herd number. His application is being processed at present and payment will issue shortly.

He applied for premium on 6 cows under the November 1993 suckler cow scheme. If his application is found to be in order when processed payment will be made as soon as possible.

Paul Bradford

Ceist:

157 Mr. Bradford asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry if a person (details supplied) in County Cork has a record of involvement in sheep farming as indicated by his application for sheep premia grants over the past number of years; if this person was an unsuccessful applicant for a recent increase in sheep quota; if so, the reason for refusing the application; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

My Department has no record of having received an application for ewe premium from the person named since 1990. He did not apply for ewe premium reserve quota from the national reserve.
