Ceist:172 Mr. J. Higgins asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the number of EEC, EC and EU directives which have come to his Department since Ireland joined the European Community.
Written Answers. - EU Directives.
I would refer the Deputy to the reply which I gave on 23 March 1993 to a similar question from Deputy Gilmore (Dáil Debates Volume 428 of 23 March 1993, Question No. 314). Having regard to the very large number of directives involved and given the other pressing demands on my Department's services, the use of scarce resources to abstract the information requested would not be justified. Details of all directives appear in the Official Journals of the European Communities copies of which are available in the Dáil Library. I will, of course, supply the Deputy with any information he requires in respect of specific Directives.
