175 Mr. Bradford asked the Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications if he has received an application for an electricity grant from a person (details supplied) in County Cork; if so, the date of receipt of the application; the date of connection of the supply; the result of the application; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
The ESB has advised that an application for grant-aid under the farm electrification grants scheme was received in their offices from the person named. This application was not forwarded to my Department for consideration as the supply of electricity had already been put in place.
Under the terms of the scheme, grant-aid is not awarded where the work on the provision of supply begins before a decision is reached on an applicant's eligibility.
