44 Mr. Cox asked the Minister for the Environment the steps, if any, that he has taken arising from the conclusions of the Green 2000 advisory report on the pollution of ground water supplies with particular reference to pollution from septic tanks systems and landfill systems.
Wexford): I refer to the reply to Questions Nos. 8, 13, 39, 42, 55 and 82 on 19 May, 1993 which responded to the conclusions of the Green 2000 advisory report in relation to the pollution of groundwater supplies. The reply included reference to measures relating to septic tank systems and landfills. As regards the latter, improved controls will be provided by the waste Bill which is now at an advanced stage of preparation.
