Vol. 442 No. 4

Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 20 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Ó Cuív — the need for replacement windows to be provided and for other repairs to be carried out as a matter of urgency at Leenane national school, County Galway; (2) Deputy John Bruton — the manner in which the local contribution towards the £300,000 shortfall in the financial allocation for the Ashbourne, County Meath water supply augmentation scheme is to be raised; and the failure of the Minister for the Environment to provide this information in reply to Parliamentary Question No. 117 of 19 April 1994; (3) Deputy De Rossa — the need for the Government to make urgent representations to the United Nations Security Council for an increase in the number of troops and the enhancement of the UN mandate in Rwanda; (4) Deputy Frances Fitzgerald — the escalation of crime in the Rathmines area of Dublin and (5) Deputy Deenihan — the unacceptable delays, up to 12 weeks in some cases, in issuing passports by the Department of Foreign Affairs, resulting in much inconvenience to applicants.

The matters raised by the following have been selected for discussion: Deputies De Rossa, Deenihan, Frances Fitzgerald and John Bruton.
