Vol. 442 No. 5

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Jim Higgins

Ceist:

144 Mr. J. Higgins asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the reason a person (details supplied) in County Mayo received payment for only one animal under the 1993 special beef premium scheme, in view of the fact that he applied for five animals which were inspected.

The payment received by the person named was in respect of the one and only animal on which he claimed premium under the January/February 1993 special beef premium scheme.

He applied for premium on five animals under the November 1993 special beef premium scheme. His application under this scheme is being processed at present and payment will be made shortly.

Edward Nealon

Ceist:

145 Mr. Nealon asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when a suckler cow grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Sligo.

The person named applied for premium on 14 cows under the 1993 suckler cow scheme for small-scale milk producers. However, he has only established a suckler cow premium quota of 10 based on the number of cows on which he was paid premium under the 1992 scheme.

He was paid a 60 per cent advance on 10 cows under the 1993 suckler cow premium scheme on 5 December 1993. Payment of the balance will be made shortly.
