Ceist:

32 Mr. J. Mitchell asked the Minister for Enterprise and Employment the total cost to the Exchequer of his private and press offices, including the cost of civil servants, programme managers, advisers, consultants, entertainment and travel in respect of the 12 month period ending 30 April 1994; and the comparative figure for 1991.

In answer to the Deputy's question, the total cost to the Exchequer of my private and press offices in the year to 30 April 1994 is estimated to have amounted to £651,000.

As my Department only came into being in January 1993, there is no comparative figure available for 1991, as requested by the Deputy.
